Slideout Models
Marathon Coach introduced the industry's first slideout on the Prevost Le Mirage chassis in 1995, and since then has built more slideout models than any other mainstream converter. In keeping with the spirit of innovation, Marathon Coach introduced the industry's first slideout model on the PREVOST H3-45 a few months later. Anticipating several enhancements to the H3-45 chassis, Marathon wisely postponed production of the H3-45 and H3-45 slideout models until the redesigned shell became available. It was well worth the wait. Coinciding with the recently redesigned H3-45, Marathon Coach secured the services of HWH for the complete slideout conversion.
HWH, the successful pioneer of hydraulic leveling systems, is also recognized as the leader of slideout technology. The combined experience of Marathon Coach and HWH Corporation has undoubtedly created the most reliable, structurally sound, and esthetically pleasing slideout model in the industry.
Some of the design features of the slideout include:
- Pneumatic perimeter gasket with dedicated air compressor
- Smooth sealed exterior underside on both slideout rooms
- Tri-axis locking pins for mainframe rigidity
- Safety key locked activation
- Transmission disabling feature when slideout is extended
- HWH autoleveling system
- Flat floor feature in extended and retracted positions
- Access to passthrough bays from both sides (without sacrificing structural integrity)
- Manual winch for emergency retraction
- Engineer tested and approved design
